For our customer Online Web Services, Noventum built out internationalization (i18n) for their web application. What this means is that previously, their application was only available in English. They wanted it available for Spanish-speaking people in the U.S. and French speaking people in Canada. We integrated with an existing, off-the-shelf, i18n plugin for their Angular application, getting their app translated into French and Spanish. We used Transifex as our translation management vendor, and used the translation services which Transifex integrates with. What that means is that Transifex stores all of our resources (English files that need translation in our case), keeps track of the different versions, and makes it easy to hire translators to work on those resources. They are basically a translation project management system. This gets complicated when dealing with MANY languages, and they keep everything organized. We used Transifex because of previous good experiences with them on other clients about four years ago, and were happy with the current experience too.

For Trend Magazine, Noventum has maintained, supported, and expanded their Joomla! site, ported much of it to WordPress, and served as a technical advisor.

For the startup Bandojo Noventum took their Mac C++ application and ported it to compile, and run, on Windows. The majority of this work involved a rewrite of their networking code, taking Macintosh / Unix specific socket code and #if def _WIN32 check guarding a parallel Windows network implementation. The decision to do this was made, as opposed to rewriting all networking code using a cross platform tool like Boost or Qt, to bring Bandojo to Windows as quickly as possible. In addition to the necessary windows implementations, Noventum provided a one-step build implementation, which allowed for rapid development. We also built an eCommerce solution to distribute the newly available Windows build, as well as the existing Mac build.

For this project, Noventum performed a database migration and configuration of the Don’t Be A Zombie recycling campaign from the Recycle New Mexico site. Additionally, Noventum wrote logic in JavaScript for restoring someone from being a zombie to a mindful, pro-recycling, citizen.

Continuing with the ePluribus project, Noventum significantly improved three dimensional layout. The customer was so happy, she posted the above image on her Facebook wall. Noventum integrated graph-visualiztion from David Piegza, an open source project, to provide the layout. Since then, a pull request has been sent to the project to contribute changes back. The Quick Silver project was created by The Social Logic Institute for DARPA. Quick Silver is a fully interactive 3D world in which different communication and organizational patterns test the abilities of a group to accomplish an objective (hide-and-seek.) Noventum helped with many of the ancillary software development tasks required to aid in making this virtual world function. Those tasks included: TeamSpeak server and channel configuration to allow for voice chatting Registration and scheduling software creation to make sure that the right number of people were in a game at the right time (cron, PHP, Python, MySQL) Automatically closing off registration options as the games filled up (PHP, MySQL) Creating instructions to allow for game participants to know what was going to happen General web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL)

Q: Frolicking Deer Lavender Farm

For this project, Noventum was the primary technical contractor in charge of implementing all of pages, eCommerce, a calendar, a recipe collection and a blog. This was new construction, working with a designer to provide a new site. Eliz Design was in charge of the project, and Fast Stack Development provided additional technical support under Noventum. Noventum currently ongoing monthly support with the Frolicking Deer Lavender Farm to continue to provide updates and new developments.

Q: Homewise IDX Feed Visual Selector

For this project, Noventum fixed a WordPress user interface element written using JQuery which allowed users to select neighborhoods visually ,where they are interested in buying real estate.

Q: MyDBR + CakePHP + Apex Evaluation

For this project, Noventum wrote a large amount of SQL to generate reports using the MyDBR reporting system for Apex Evaluation . MyDBR requires the vast majority of computation to be done inside SQL, not easily allowing server-side programming languages to be used. We created stored procedures for these routines, which we then called from an ancillary reporting systems inside CakePHP .

Q: English / Russian Song Translation

For this project, Noventum quickly created a basic form which generates working HTML to be inserted into a Joomla install. The generated HTML is for a site that specializes in translating songs from English into Russian and contains a song title and song lyrics in both Russian and English, as well as an optional youtube video for embedding. The site receives approximately 10,000 hits per month.
